Even if you only have a few dollars to give, every bit helps. What they are experiencing there is unimaginable.
May God be with them.
Our church sends a team of people there every year. We have been getting updates from Dony St. Germain, who is the Mission to North America Haitian Movement Leader. My pastor, Mike Hsu has been posting them at his blog, here. Here is an excerpt from his blog..
El Shaddai Ministries International: ESMI is a ministry led by Dony, Louis and Sharon St. Germain. This is a way of giving directly to the Haitian locals of ESMI who know firsthand the needs of their own people and are on the ground right now. While the link takes you to the website of Mission to North America, the Haitian church-planting arm of the Presbyterian Church in America, all funds go directly to ESMI.
Click here for the ESMI website. If you scroll down, there are 3 updates that tell about Dony’s experience of finding his way into Port-Au-Prince. There are also 3 powerful videos they took. The first one is at the hospital in Les Cayes, Haiti, which is an hour 1/2 away (on very bad, damages roads) from where these people were injured. What an awful journey, I can’t fathom what they have been through. In the first video, there is a girls whose face I will never forget (watch minutes 6:00-8:32 on first video.) It is her face that I will picture as I lift all the precious Haitian people up in prayer.
