Candy Cane Lane Green Tea

When something makes me this happy, I just have to share it with you!

I am coming down with a cold, my throat is very sore and I’ve got a stuffy nose.  Crap.

I picked up Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Green Tea at my health food store the other day and boy, am I glad I did.  It is REALLY good.  It has the taste of peppermint sticks, creamy vanilla bean and a hint of cinnamon.  I added a packet of stevia and a splash of milk to make it sweet, white and creamy.
This makes it feel like I am drinking an expensive, hot drink that is full of calories, when really, I am drinking something full of antioxidants, and all kinds of things that are good for me, and it is sugar free!  There is just something about peppermint when one has a stuffy nose!  Ahhh…

I just bought a bunch of red and white, candy cane striped coffee mugs at my local Dollar Tree. They are square and really cute. I am planning on using them in some way as Christmas gifts for teachers.  They would be perfect stuffed with these tea bags, (they smell SO good), and a candy cane, then wrapped with cellophane and tied with a red bow.  Great, simple gift for any tea lover’s out there!

If you go to Celestial Seasonings Website, you can type in your zip code and they will tell you where to find this particular tea in your area, or, you can click here and order it from Amazon.

Try using eucalyptus oil and lotion on the soles of your feet to help clear your throat and lungs, and ward off the cold symptoms. Oh, and wear socks. As to the tea, Trader Joe’s has a peppermint green tea out now and my 12 yo son and my 16 yo daughter take turns hiding it so no one else can drink it because they want it all to themselves. My son can drink the whole box in a few days. We’ll have to try the CS brand now. Hope your cold doesn’t get bad and you recover quickly.

forgot to add that my fav teas are actually yogi teas: rooibos, green tea and their ‘fit for the day’ collection, which has 4 different teas in it that suit 4 different times of the day: green tea for the morning, lemon ginger for lunch, then a heartwarming tea (dont know what’s in it but its delicious) and then a nighttime tea that’s so good that i reverse engineered it as Yogi tea is not always available here in the Italian country side. so I made a mixture of myself with the same ingredients but left out the valerian root. Yep, mine tastes as good as the Yogi bags, and yep, at fraction of the cost. I’ve actually posted the recipe on my blog as a Mothers day gift idea. I call it ‘relax tea’.

That is my FAVORITE Celestial Seasonings tea. Every year as Christmas approaches, I start looking for it at the grocery store so I can stock up!
