Anti-Procrastination Weekly Update

Anti-Procrastination Weekly Update

You all have been so kind in response to the post I wrote about my health scare. The comments, the emails, the Facebook posts–so many of you saying that you are praying for me. I feel overwhelmed by all the love! Of course, I would love your prayers, but want to reassure you that I’m doing well and do not feel worried. I will update in August after my next Oncology appointment.

We have a heat wave coming to the midwest this week, and we plan on spending some time at my in-laws’ pool and pool house. I was there this morning with a dear friend and her two littles, and tomorrow my Colsie is having a few friends there in the evening. We sure are spoiled having such a wonderful place to live slow and make wonderful summer memories!

I’ve been using the Couch to 5K Running App in the mornings and I’m on week 4. Jogging in this heat is going to be brutal. I’m going to try and wake up even earlier than I have been to beat the heat. If all else fails, I do have a gym membership, but I sure have loved being in nature on my jogs! I still can’t believe my walks have turned into jogs. I’m so thankful my joints are holding up –I have joint issues from cancer med side effects, but thanks to Turmeric, inflammation is staying under control. I know the cardio is great for my heart and I’m hoping the few pounds of post menopausal weights I’ve gained (also thanks to cancer meds) will continue to melt away. I will write more about this app and my experience with it. I’m quite giddy about it!

The Miracle Cube Timer

The Miracle Timer

The Miracle Timer: 5, 10, 15, 30, & 60 minutes is GREAT for time management. I’ve been using it to keep myself on task when working. I use the 30-minute setting to empty out my email inbox every day. I use the 60-minute setting twice when writing a blog post, and the 15-minute setting when sharing the post on all of my social media channels. I also use the 15 minute setting when cleaning my house. It is great fun to try and beat the timer with each task!

Sure, I could use my phone, but there is something so fun and handy about using this little cube and I use it way more often than I ever used my iPhone timer. You simply turn the cube and whatever number is facing up, that is the time that automatically starts.  This would make a great and modern kitchen timer, study timer, kid timer or workout timer. PowerMoxie iphone6 Case, Gold

PowerMoxie iPhone Case

I ordered this iPhone 6s Case, (or iPhone 6) by PowerMoxie a few weeks ago and I really like it. I cracked my screen and was at an iPhone repair shop where they sell iPhone cases. They were asking $49.99 for this very case, so I discreetly asked my daughter who was with me at the time to look the case up on Amazon to see if I could get a better price. Sure enough, she found it on Amazon for $9.99!

It was nice to try it on my phone in person to make sure I liked the feel of it. I did. It is sturdy without being too thick. I needed a case that is thin enough to fit in the zipper pocket of my favorite purse. There is a rubber edge that comes around onto the screen part of the phone, which is quite protective. I love it, especially the simple gold metal finish.

Ongoing Obsessions

Kindle Fire

This ongoing obsession with my Kindle Fire is not letting up. I especially love using it in the evenings when tucked in bed. It’s like my own perfect sized, personal television. Before I indulge in watching Netflix, Amazon Prime shows, or my fav YouTube Channels,   I make sure I read at least a chapter or two of whatever book is on my Kindle. I love using the same device to both read and watch.

Aroma Soft Essential Oil Diffuser -- best diffuser!

Essential Oil Diffuser

Still using it daily and love it! The Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser by AromaSoft is amazing for getting the scent out into larger rooms. It is priced very reasonably and works so well! After buying 4 other diffusers, I did some research, read a ton of reviews, and bought this one. I’m so happy I did!

Lavender Essential Oil

Rocky Mountain Oils

Rocky Mountain Oils are my current oils of choice. I just love them, their scent is so pure! They are having a 30% summer sale so my favorite lavender is only $15.40, down from $22.00. Plus free shipping. Hurry…just 3 days left. {Offer ends July 20, 2017 at 11:59 pm MT}

My favorite summer blend for the diffuser:

2 drops lavender ($22.00 $15.40)

2 drops lemon ($11.00 $7.70)

2 drops peppermint ($16.00 $11.20)

It is so refreshing and these three oils together are wonderful for helping to maintain clear breathing and a healthy immune response. Plus it smells amazing!
