Weekly Update

We just got back from a week long trip to Minnesota with extended family, and boy did we have a wonderful time. It was the perfect balance of fun activity and slow moments. I loved it.

Dock

Favorite active moments: Family game playing, banana boats, paddle boards, ziplining over treetops, girls in kayaks, family bike ride, shopping at the Mall of America — so much fun.

Slow Living Chair

Favorite slow moments: Sunsets, sitting lake side, family dinners, early morning God time in “my” chair with my favorite lap quilt, a rain storm that slowed us on our last day, a whirlpool tub, audio books in the car — these moments did my heart such good.

Now we are home and I’ve finally conquered the mountain of laundry and emails, but have a ton of blog work to do with 2 campaigns coming up. It is our last week before the girls start school, and it is a busy one! I’m hoping to find some slow moments at the pool in between all of the busy.

When is back-to-school for you?

Ceramic Mug

My New Hand Thrown Ceramic Mug

Have you noticed? Pottery and ceramic mugs are all the rage right now. One of my favorite coffee shops now serves their hot tea from a kettle and cups made of hand thrown pottery. I love that each piece is different– a work of art. I also like that my new mug keeps coffee warm for a long time, how my hand fits around it, and the weight of it. It’s a ‘cozy’ mug…if there is such a thing.

I got mine on our recent vacation trip to Minnesota in their little lodge shop. A fun souvenir! Here are some similar Hand Thrown Ceramic Mugs on Amazon.

Salton Mug Warmer

Let’s stay on the theme of warm drinks, shall we? I use this Slaton Mug Warmer almost every morning. My daughter got it for me for Christmas. It is one of the least expensive items on my “list of favorite things that I use daily.” Between my hand-thrown ceramic mug and this Salton Mug Warmer, my coffee and tea stay piping hot to the last drop!

Ongoing Obsessions

Kindle Fire

This ongoing obsession with my Kindle Fire is not letting up. I especially love using it in the evenings when tucked in bed. It’s like my own perfect sized, personal television. Before I indulge in watching Netflix, Amazon Prime shows, or my fav YouTube Channels,   I make sure I read at least a chapter or two of whatever book is on my Kindle. I love using the same device to both read and watch.

Aroma Soft Essential Oil Diffuser -- best diffuser!

Essential Oil Diffuser

Still using it daily and love it! The Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser by AromaSoft is amazing for getting the scent out into larger rooms. It is priced very reasonably and works so well! After buying 4 other diffusers, I did some research, read a ton of reviews, and bought this one. I’m so happy I did!

RMO Oils

Rocky Mountain Oils

Rocky Mountain Oils are my current oils of choice. I just love them, their scent is so pure! I really appreciate the free shipping.

My favorite summer blend for the diffuser:

2 drops lavender

2 drops lemon

2 drops peppermint

It is so refreshing and these three oils together are wonderful for helping to maintain clear breathing and a healthy immune response. Plus it smells amazing!
