ANTI-PROCRASTINATION

Anti-Procrastination Weekly Update

Anti-Procrastination Weekly Update

I’m feeling it. The end of the school year is here and summer here we come!  My 3 girls’ last day of school is tomorrow! Today and tomorrow are just half days due to finals for 2 of my girls who are in high school. My youngest does not think that is too fair and is trudging through her last days. I’m so proud of all of them!

Next year they will all 3 be in high school. Oh boy! Send the prayers! They will all be riding together in the same car with my oldest driving, so pray that the bickering would be minimal and not a driving hazard! Ha!

Seriously though, I cannot believe how the years have passed so quickly. I cannot believe I get to experience these high school years with them. I remember when I was sick, wondering if I would be around to witness this. I am so thankful.

Braces, driver’s license, first jobs, first homecomings, proms, and boyfriends. Loads of homework and at times loads of drama. I love it all.

I will share more about my summer plans in the next weekly update. Bring it on, summer!

Trader Joes Dark Chocolate Coffee Squares

Oh my. I cannot keep buying these because I can’t stop at just one.

I have a dear friend who is getting cancer treatment in Houston but lives here in the Midwest. I went with her last October, and she shared some dark chocolate coffee squares found only in Houston. I loved them. I looked them up online and could not order them, but my sweet friend surprised me several times by leaving a package of the chocolates on my porch after coming back from treatment.

When I saw these Dark Chocolate Coffee Squares from Trader Joes, I thought “surely not.” They sounded very familiar and were in the same shape and packaging as these other Houston chocolates. I tasted one and sure enough, they tasted identical. If they are not the same chocolate I would be very, very surprised! Makes me happy!

Crushed Ginger Dorots, perfect for Ginger Tea!

Crushed Ginger Dorots

I accidentally bought these Crushed Ginger Dorots, thinking they were Minced Garlic Dorots! Whoops! I found a great way to use them this week and now I’m obsessed.

My Todd and I tried out a new Korean restaurant last weekend for date night. They served the most wonderful ginger honey tea. When I finished my cup there were matchstick pieces of real ginger at the bottom of my cup. No wonder it tasted so delicious! I decided to replicate the tea at home and nailed it! I used 2 squares of Crushed Ginger Dorots, 2 teaspoons of honey and hot water. So delicious! Ginger is so good for the body. Really, this should be a blog post. Yes, I think I will write a post with this delicious tea recipe and the health benefits of ginger. Stay tuned! Make sure you are subscribed to New Nostalgia so you don’t miss a post!

Ongoing Obsessions

Kindle Fire

This ongoing obsession with my Kindle Fire is not letting up. I especially love using it in the evenings when tucked in bed. It’s like my own perfect sized, personal television. Before I indulge in watching Netflix, Amazon Prime shows, or my fav YouTube Channels,   I make sure I read at least a chapter or two of whatever book is on my Kindle. I love using the same device to both read and watch.

Essential Oil Diffuser

Still using it daily and love it! The Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser by AromaSoft is amazing for getting the scent out into larger rooms. It is priced very reasonably and works so well! After buying 4 other diffusers, I did some research, read a ton of reviews, and bought this one. I’m so happy I did!  My most used oils are these 2: Sunshine Spice Synergy Blend for daytime; Good Night Synergy Blend for nighttime.

Lots of great inspiration here, Amy! I especially like the ginger Dorothy. Mi remember going to an Indian restaurant and drinking that delectable tea with matchstick ginger at the bottom. Heavenly! The Indian Butter Chicken looks delish too.
