A Gift Of Love In A Jar

This is a fast, fun way to tell someone how much you love them.

1 jar

1 lid

Fun Paper

Glue Gun

A Tag

~Cut a circle out of paper (I used a circle cutter, love that thing!)  Glue it to the top of the jar.
~Cut strips of paper, write reasons why you love the one you are giving it to.  (could do memories and make it a memory jar, too)
~Put the paper in the jar, screw on the lid and tie it with a ribbon.
~Add an embellishment, if desired.
~Add a tag

This makes a great Mother’s Day Gift, and would also make a great Valentines Gift!  My little girl helped me make one for her Grandma for Mother’s Day, then surprised me by making one for me all by herself! Here is what she had to say on her strips of paper..
I love you because:
“You take me on dates”
“You made us art bags
“You let us have guinea pigs”
“The look on your face at the pool”–huh??:)
“You created charts for us”
“You take us on picnics”
“You started rocks” (our new behavior system)
“You clean the kitchen”
“You got my bed fixed”
“My birthday party”
“You let us eat hot dogs from the grill sometimes”
“You made a garden
“You let us move to (the city we live in)”
Awww, so sweet!  She even put a fuzzy baby chic in my jar that would tweet whenever I shook the jar 🙂

This is such a cute idea! I was just discussing some ideas with a friend last night for teacher appreciation week next week. I am the room mom for my son’s 1st grade class and I am going to put this together for his teacher. I’ll have each of the children write one thing that they love about their teacher.

Thank you so much for this wonderful idea! I can’t wait to give it to her next week.

This made me laugh as I made a You Can Help Jar – but not as pretty for my husband on Mother’s Day. Basically, he always tells me he doesn’t know how to help me attack our home organization quest besides helping with laundry and dishes. So, I wrote down a bunch of 15 minute tasks that he can easily do and put them in a jar on his bureau. Now, he can pull one out and get to it, not questioning what or how to help knowing I am ever so appreciative for his help!

This is so cute! I did “52 reasons I LUB you” using a deck of cards for my boyfriend on Valentines Day and this would be another cute “just because” project to do!

I love how you keep the jar theme going on your blog!

When my parents celebrated their 60th birthday parties my siblings and I made a jar and all filled it with little blips of memories that we had of our childhoods. Things like “I remember when we went camping and it snowed”. They were short bursts of love…and the directions were that they could pull one out each night during dinner to spark a conversation from our memory. THey loved it! Kind of the same deal!
