Is it too early to be talking Christmas? I love getting all of my Christmas shopping done by Thanksgiving. I have my Mother-In-Law to thank for this. She is always done by Thanksgiving and is always able to enjoy the beautiful Christmas season despite having a gazillion grand kids to buy for!
We have to be a bit more frugal this year due to my health expenses, so I plan to make some handmade gifts. I have been over at Pinterest getting inspired by all wonderful ideas, and thought I would share some of my favorites with you!
How about you?
Do you make any of your Christmas gifts?
Do you mind getting a handmade Christmas gift?
When do you start your Christmas shopping?
What is your favorite handmade gift above?
Do you have a Pinterest account? If so, I’d love to know. To follow me at Pinterest and see more of my pins, click here.

December 5, 2011 at 9:13 pmCame to your blog from Pinterest. It was fun to see a picture from someone I know on here. My friend is Rachel from the vase picture. She actually used twine and not rubber bands. It will actually be easier if you do it that way. Just thought you might like to know.

October 26, 2011 at 12:15 pmI have made handmade gifts for our families off and on for years. My favorites are tins filled with homemade crackers, sweet and spicy nuts, dried apples, and a specialty cheese purchased at Aldi; crocheted washcloth with homemade soap and salt or sugar scrubs in pretty jars; and tote bags filled with homemade bread, homemade jams, and local fruit such as apples. Oh one year we found white latte bowls/cups at the dollar store and customized them with paint then each was filled with homemade beverage mixes depending on their taste preference. There have also been years where I gave my SIL homemade pasta, sauce, a loaf of homemade italian bread, sprigs of thyme, several heads of garlic, and a butter spread in a cute jar all packaged in a basket from Goodwill.

October 26, 2011 at 3:56 amI married into a large family (my husband is one of nine) so between the wedding planning and the large number of people, last year I did cookie mix in mason jars. This year I am sewing gifts.
