Weekly Update
My OH my. I just finished watching the eclipse and it was truly magnificent. We live in Lincoln, NE, where we were engulfed in the shadow of a total solar eclipse for just over one minute. It was crazy to experience night in the middle of the day, and when I took a few seconds to peel my eyes away from the sun to the glow around the horizon, it was a bit ethereal. I was giddy, euphoric, and truly in awe of it all!
It made me think of Creator God, his beautiful creation (of most we only just get glimpses of but are still amazed), and what Heaven will be like someday. This God whose handiwork makes us all stop and stare upward wearing silly shades as we take in slivers of light with mouths hanging open–this God knows me (and you!) by name. Fully known, fully loved. So much beauty!
It was wonderful to take a day to look at the sky with some of my loved ones. I had a mountain of work to do, (I’m working on something special for you all!) so I worked late Sunday night in order to slow down on a Monday. I will pick up on that work this evening, too. Sometimes #slowliving is a tradeoff, busy nights for a slow day, and boy, was this one worth it!

Latest Obsessions

Modway Molded Rocking Lounge Chair
My 15- year- old Avery just got this Modway Molded Rocking Lounge Chair for her room and it is really REALLY cute. She also bought this Faux Fur White Pillow to put on it and talk about double the cuteness! The chair sits in the corner of her room and is a great place for ME to sit when I go visit her. If you are a Mom of teens, you know what I mean. They like their rooms and often if you want to see them, you enter their space to visit.
Infiniti Pro Flat Iron by Conair
We have been using the Infiniti Pro Flat Iron by Conair in our household for years now. We actually own 3, because there are 4 of us that use them! I have used many professional flat irons in the salon back in my cosmetology days, and this flat iron measures up beautifully. You can control the temperature which is great because it can get nice and hot. This flat iron is the best, and is so reasonably priced!
Ongoing Obsessions
Kindle Fire
This ongoing obsession with my Kindle Fire is not letting up. I especially love using it in the evenings when tucked in bed. It’s like my own perfect sized, personal television. Before I indulge in watching Netflix, Amazon Prime shows, or my fav YouTube Channels, I make sure I read at least a chapter or two of whatever book is on my Kindle. I love using the same device to both read and watch.
Essential Oil Diffuser
Still using it daily and love it! The Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser by AromaSoft is amazing for getting the scent out into larger rooms. It is priced very reasonably and works so well! After buying 4 other diffusers, I did some research, read a ton of reviews, and bought this one. I’m so happy I did!
Rocky Mountain Oils
Rocky Mountain Oils are my current oils of choice. I just love them, their scent is so pure! I really appreciate the free shipping.
My new “back-to-school, almost fall” blend:
2 drops orange
1 drop cinnamon bark
1 drop vanilla
Another scent I love for “almost fall” is Majestic Breeze from RMO. It smells like a warm hug to me. I diffused it all last fall and winter, so I’m eager for the cozy familiar scent again! The description says it is calming and balancing. No wonder I love it. It is on sale right now!
