I am lovin’ it!!
She has tackled clothing decluttering, drawer and cabinet decluttering, and touched on cleaning routines.
I am VERY motivated, thanks to her posts.
Here is my progress so far:
Clothing Decluttering
I didn’t get this done yet, but making some major plans to!:)  One more load of laundry to go, then once all is hung up, my plan is to have my 3 girls who are all old enough, to go to their own closets and take out whatever they do not wear, and the clothes that ‘scream’ winter.  I will then visit each room to approve of their selection.  I will have a bag in hand to put the unwanted clothes, and a large bin for storing the winter clothes. This was my plan a couple weeks ago, but alas, here we are and it is not done–YET!
My husband, Todd, did his own closet about a month ago.
Mine is to the point where I can barely shut it, so we all know who is the problem with this one!!;)  ME!!!
Drawer and Cabinet Decluttering
I did great with this one.  I give my girls 3 chores on our white board, after school each day.  This week, I made sure some of those chores were a drawer or a part of a closet.  This really helped me out, once I saw some progress, it lit a fire under me and off I went!  I got our hall closet done, several drawers/cabinets in the kitchen, and both bathroom cabinets done.
Cleaning Routines
I am in the process of making a homemaking binder with Clean Mama’s printables.  I CAN’T TELL YOU HOW EXCITED I AM!!  I will let you know how it works out for me as I start using them.  She sure has a way of making everything look so pretty, it makes me want to use them and get something done around here!
This week, I love her pick 3 challenge.  I was not going to share my 3 because then I would have accountability, but isn’t that the point of our AP Tuesdays??!!  Ok, here they are:
1. my car trunk
2. organizing my closet
3. clean under my kitchen sink cabinet
{so #2 and #3 technically should have been done in week 1 (clothing declutter) and week 2 (cabinets and closets), but this is not about doing it perfectly, it is about getting something done!}

Spring In A Bottle

This is a guest post from Amy @All Things Home

Photobucket

I am so ready for Spring, but I’ve told you that already, haven’t I?
Little bits of spring decor here and there are helping me to get that
warm fuzzy spring is almost here feeling.
If you have never been to a Goodwill Outlet, then you have missed out on a very unique experience.
You have to be able to dig and grab with the best of them…and I mean the best because these people buy this stuff by the cartfuls, I assume to resale.
There are big bins FULL of anything you can imagine.
I have only been twice and both times left with a few pretty cool things.

This trip,  I found these three beauties!

Can you tell that these are wine bottles?
Can you believe it?

I had no idea that wine came packaged so pretty.
I mean this is my favorite color, you know.
I went outside before the torrential rain started this morning and brought in a few pretty branches with little buds beginning to form.

I love the way they look in these bottles.
Can you see why I call them my spring in a bottle?

Thanks for sharing this post, Amy!
I love how the bottles line up and give a touch of color.  That bench is amazing, too.

Spring Cleaning & Declutter With Clean Mama

You all know I am a big fan of Clean Mama.  The look of her blog makes me very happy, she gives away many free printables, and she’s a midwest girl, like me!!
She is doing a “Clean Sweep” spring clean + declutter.
A month of spring cleaning and decluttering at your own pace
Last year, she hosted a Spring Zone Cleaning, which was awesome!  This year is going to be a bit more laid back, with just a “couple suggestions to work in at your leisure”–I like the sound of that.  I need laid back this year, and I also need some motivation to focus in on some specific things.
I am REALLY looking forward to getting something done around here-won’t you join us?
If interested, just visit Clean Mama to receive the assignment for each week during March. I am excited about this weeks assignment, my closet has been moaning at me for awhile now! I will let you know how I am coming on my progress, and would love to hear from you if you decide to join in.
When you go visit, let her know you came from New Nostalgia and that Amy says “Hi!”

Tackling My To-Do List 15 Minutes At A Time

Tackling My To-Do List 15 Minutes At A Time

Oggi Countdown Stainless Steel Timer

I have a bunch of stuff around here that is buggin’ me that I want to get done…but frankly, I’M TIRED!
I told my radiologist that I was feeling fatigue today and he said “Yep, that is us doing that to you.”

The post I wrote, “Do Anything In 15 Minutes and Squash Perfectionism,” came to mind, and  I’ve decided to try out my 15 minute rule today.

Here are my goals for the day:
15 min-write blog post
15 min-Empty Dishwasher (took 4 minutes)
15 min-Load Dishwasher, Wipe Counters, Wipe Tables (took 10 minutes)
15 min-Clean Out Refrigerator
15 min-Fold/Hang Up Laundry(took 13 minutes)
15 min-Clear Out Gmail Inbox
15 min-Work On Budget
15 min-Work On Blog
15 min-Make/eat lunch
15 min-Write CB update
15 min-Eat lunch/take supplements & vitamins
15 min-Paper work
15 min-Read Nutrition Book
15 min-Count Gifts
15 min-Put Laundry Away(took 20 minutes)
15 min-Tidy Bedroom (took 10 minutes)
15 min-Read Devotional
15 min-Journal
15 min-Clear Desktop (took 2 minutes)
15 min-Walk On Treadmill (20 minutes)

I won’t necessarily go in that order, but I will come cross off each task as I complete it. That is my favorite part.:)

It is 10:00 a.m. right now. Some of these things won’t take the entire 15 minutes, so hopefully, I will get done in time to take nap!!

What are you doing today?
Do you have a to-do list?
What are your tips for getting it all done?
