Do you feel it? Summer is flying by and here comes fall! I cannot believe it.
The summer has been satisfying for me and I feel proud of what I have learned and accomplished.
I learned how to be fluid with my work schedule, releasing it to what is MOST important (my girls and their needs) but at the same time working hard when I do get the moments to buckle down and work!
Did you notice this site got a little facelift? It should look familiar but a bit more modern and user-friendly.
It was a lot of behind-the-scenes work and I am so very thankful it is pretty much done! Thank you to Laurie Cosgrove of Laurie Cosgrove Design and Dan King of Fistbump Media.
My site might look nice and tidy, but the rest of my life has not been without a little inner chaos this summer. I am breathing much more easily after learning that a biopsy was benign yesterday.
This time breast cancer was not the worry, but melanoma. I had melanoma over 20 years ago, and have to be checked by a dermatologist every year since. It is a deadly cancer if not caught early, and one that can come back years and years later.
The spot found was on my heel. I never look at the bottom of my feet…do you? It was black and it scared me, as it looked quite similar to the melanoma found on my stomach all those years ago.
Ya’ll…my anxiety hit hard the past 3 days before my appointment. I’ve known about it for over a month but really struggled right before getting answers.
My sweet man came with me to the appointment and we sighed much relief when we heard the results. It was a Talon Noir, which is a fancy name for a blood blister on the foot. Whew!
It was a good reminder of how very precious life is, and how very thankful I am for good health!

ONE RECIPE TO TRY

ONE RMO PRODUCT I’M USING
I put Rocky Mountain Oil called Immune Strength oil in my all-purpose cleaner and I am LOVING it. I will especially love the warm scent come fall! Think citrus and cinnamon together…yum. Bonus: it is a calming fragrance. Therapeutic cleaning..I’ll take some of that!
A favorite DIY cleaner that cleans all the things! It could not be more simple to make and does not coat your surfaces with toxic chemicals, but does the opposite...with the recommended oil, it is actually aromatherapy while you clean!
- 2 cups water
- 1 T dish soap
- 10-20 drops Immune Strength Oil or oil of choice
-
Add water to spray bottle. Using a small funnel, add the dish soap and drops of essential oil. Put spray top on and shake before using.
Order Immune Strength oil from Rocky Mountian Oils. You can use it in this recipe or diffuse it. It is one of their most popular oils with so many benefits and smells delish.

August 12, 2018 at 7:54 pmI follow your blog with interest as I too am a breast and skin cancer survivor. I had a biopsy done yesterday, but not for melanoma, but for the other breast. So, I am now in the position you were just in, with anxiety as I wait. I know God has a plan and I’ll be okay, no matter what happens. But as you know, once you’ve been through this, it’s hard not to relive the past. Thanks for your words of encouragement to remember that life is precious.

August 19, 2018 at 2:21 pmGoodness, we have much in common. I’m so sorry to hear you have been through 2 types of cancer, and that you are in the process of waiting on biopsy report. I see you wrote your comment almost a week ago so I hope you are doing ok and wonder about your results. Yes, God has a plan and has you in his hands, held.
