When I first started “Anti-Procrastination Tuesdays,” the vision was a weekly THEMED link party, one that focused in on what it is we tend to procrastinate on and the motivation to do something about that. I envisioned women visiting each others blogs and writing comments of encouragement, and being inspired as we watched each other accomplish whatever it was that we had been putting off.
This is happening on a small scale, and it has been beautiful!
I have noticed the last few weeks there have been a lot more crafty/project type posts, which fits in a way, because something got done. It has been exciting to see the numbers grow each week, but it has got me thinking about just what kind of link up party do we want this to be? Do we want it to be strictly “procrastination” themed, or are you enjoying the flexibility of “anything goes” and the participants/traffic that brings? I communicated that I was flexible in what “getting something done” was, so it was only natural that there would be a variety of link ups. My fear in this is that we will lose the uniqueness of the “Anti-Procrastination theme.
Donna @ Funky Junk has been asking all type of link party questions, and the answers have been fascinating. Her solution to a problem similar to this was to have 2 separate linky themes on the same link page/party. I am going to try the same. That way we can keep the traffic going, but still keep the uniqueness of the procrastination theme. I think it will be easier for those who come for specific reasons to find exactly what they are looking for.
The first one will be “Anti-Procrastination” Themed:
~things you’ve wanted to do for a long time
~before & afters
The second one will be much more flexible:
~recipes
~crafts
~projects
Please give me your thoughts on this. I will be featuring posts from both camps, but I will be honest and tell you I will tend to lean toward featuring more of the procrastination themed posts, just because that is where the vision was from the start, which is my heart:) Does this all make sense? I will try it out this week and see how it goes. Again, your thoughts matter!

Here are the guidelines:
1. On Tuesdays each week, I’ll host the link party here at New Nostalgia. You can come over and enter the permalink to your Anti-Procrastination post in my MckLinky List.
2. Be sure to insert a link in your post that directs others back here. It could be my button at the side bar, or something like “This post is linked to “Anti-Procrastination Tuesdays” at New Nostaglia.
3. Be sure to link your posts url, not your blog url!
4. Link as many posts as you would like, as long as they have to do with this subject
5. Visit as many other links as you can for ideas, inspiration and to offer encouragement.
6. Leave comments for the links you visit just to let them know you are there (and so we can know there really ARE people out there committed to getting things done together, support matters!)
7. Come back each tuesday, post more of your accomplishments, and see some of the links featured from the week before. You could be one of them!
Don’t forget to grab a button to place at the top or bottom of your post to show you are participating in “Anti-Procrastination Tuesdays.” Simply copy the code below in the box and paste where you can edit the html in your blog post.
And now, onto today’s “Anti-Procrastination Tuesday’s” Link Party!

April 28, 2010 at 4:11 amAmy, I think you’ve set up your party beautifully. Those of us who procrastinate and finally end up with a project have a place to show it, and those of us who simply accomplished a long-overdue task have a place to join in, as well! Looks like some really great projects. I will add your party to my Tuesday parties, and I sure appreciate your participating in my Wednesday Boardwalk Bragfest. I also signed up to follow you. I’m really enjoying your blog, my new friend!

April 27, 2010 at 2:32 pmAmy, thanks for clarifying the themes. I wondered this week when I just had finishing touches to a previously procrastinated project. As others said above, I am motivated to finish things because of this party! However, most of the procrastination in my life centers around craft projects. It will pan out. Thanks again!

April 27, 2010 at 2:25 pmThanks for the sweet comments on my post! I really like the idea of keeping your party focused like you are. I can always find crafts to do that I love. However, sometimes these crafts interfere with the things that I really NEED to do that I have been putting off. It’s nice to have a place to get motivated into accomplishing these things…even if it’s something like organizing paperwork. (which I should add to my list! lol)

April 27, 2010 at 3:52 amAmy,
I just read your post and I think it is smart to do what you are doing. I personally have no problem finding “over due” projects around my house and I wish they are crafty type of projects but they are not. LOL! I have temporary put all of my craft projects on the back burner (except the ones I could not say no – like for our school girls’ craft night). I do not want to waver from my goal for this year, which is to minimize and tackling the delinquent projects.
Your AP party has been a great motivational tool for me in achieving my goal. Thank you Amy. I can’t wait till the end of this year to look back and see how many projects got finished!

April 27, 2010 at 1:33 amGreat party! I hope I put my stuff in the right category. It’s all Before and After stuff, but crafty also, so I just put it in the 2nd category. Thanks for hosting a party for us! 🙂
